Why isn't this site coded in Java?

First, java hosting is more expensive than HTML/PHP hosting. For a hobby-site like this one, I think this is a valid argument. Secondly, because Java is not limited like HTML/PHP, you can easily get into trouble if bad-written sites are hosted on the same machine as yours ...

I also have a Java site. Can you help me in getting traffic to it?

Yes, we do link exchanges with related sites, and a good starting point to get some more traffic to your site is probably to submit your site to be site of the day here ...
It will show up for a full day at the right upper corner on this site ...
